Twistlock

Securing the journey to the cloud

San Francisco, CA

Market Opportunity

One of the major barriers to enable broad enterprise adoption is security, compliance and monitoring of containers – Twistlock had the only complete and robust solution at the time of investment.

Our Series A investment was a thematic play on the rise of containers, which we believed would have similar potential to what virtualization demonstrated a decade earlier.

Managing Team

Twistlock’s founding team worked together at Microsoft and all had roots from the IDF’s cyber unit. Their marketing and sales teams developed a thoughtful go-to-market approach, cultivating thought leadership amongst its audience of developers, DevOps and engineers who were focused on building and managing in this new ecosystem.

Ten Eleven Impact

Ten Eleven introduced the company to Brendan Hannigan, former IBM Security CEO, who would later become Chairman of Twistlock.

Ten Eleven also helped facilitate both the Series B and Series C for Twistlock, providing investor introductions and guidance on timing, valuation and positioning.

Twistlock was acquired in an all-cash transaction by Palo Alto Networks to extend its Prisma cloud security strategy.

At the time of acquisition, Twistlock served more than 300 customers, with more than a quarter of those on the Fortune 100 list.

– Nikesh Arora, CEO, Palo Alto Networks

“As a growing number of organizations move their business to the cloud, developers increasingly rely on cloud-native technologies such as containers and serverless infrastructure to accelerate the development, testing, and deployment of modern applications and services… With Twistlock’s market-leading container security capabilities, we are more confident than ever in our ability to enable a secure journey to the cloud for our customers.”
