Malte Pollmann has been CEO and Chief Strategy Officer of Utimaco, a german-US high-security encryption leader, between 2011-2022 and successfully spearheaded Utimaco’s buy-out from the Sophos Group in 2013. Supported by multiple international Private Equity groups, he grew the company to more than 500 employees globally and integrated multiple international acquisitions.
Prior to Utimaco & Sophos, he served as senior manager for the Bertelsmann-Lycos JV in Paris, France, and integrated several acquired enterprises into the European Internet business. With a master’s degree in physics from the Universities of Paderborn and Kaiserslautern in Germany, Malte received his general management education at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
Since his exit from Utimaco, he continues to serve on their Board of Directors, sits on the Supervisory Board of the International School of IT-Security AG in Bochum as well as several Advisory Boards of the RWTH Aachen University for „Neuromorphic Computing“ and the „Internet of Production“.
Malte lives today with his family in Belgium, frequently supports cybersecurity startups as a mentor & investor, and advises European government bodies on issues of Digital Sovereignty.
