Brian has held senior executive roles and been an internal and external legal and business advisor to technology companies and venture funds for the last twenty years with a particular emphasis on data privacy issues and cyber security solutions.
Brian began his career working with early stage technology companies and venture funds in the Palo Alto office of Cooley and then moved in-house where he served as General Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer, and Chief Administration Officer for security and software companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, including PGP Corporation, Scale Eight, Reputation.com, OneID, Euclid Analytics, and Ionic Security.
Most recently, Brian served as General Counsel for Techstars, overseeing the legal function for both Techstars’ operating business and Techstars Ventures, its venture capital arm. In addition to overseeing all compliance and legal issues while at Techstars, Brian was an active mentor and advisor within the Techstars ecosystem, providing guidance on legal issues and scalability challenges.
Brian received his J.D. from UCLA School of Law and graduated cum laude from the University of Puget Sound. As recent transplants to Colorado, Brian and his wife are enjoying all the outdoor activities that the Rocky Mountains have to offer and are trying to their best to stay ahead of their two boys on the ski slopes.
